The 2017 championship run begins this Sunday, Feb 12.2017 at 7:00pm here in Seaforth for the Centenaires. Centenaires will play host for the first time to the Elora Rocks in the second round of the WOAA Sr A Playoff Championships.
After playing a whirl wind of hockey including 3 games in 3 days, the Huron East Centenaires got a much needed weekend off with their first round playoff bye. "Guys at this level love hockey but they have to balance hockey with work and family as well." said Centenaires President Bill Tremeer. "Last weekend bye, especially after the grueling week prior, was an opportunity to recharge, to make a strong push into the playoffs and bring home a championship to Seaforth."
As noted Sunday will be the first time the team plays Elora Rocks. The Elora team played a tough series against the Shelburne Muskies advancing on Monday in a overtime win. In the stretch leading up to the playoff Elora fell short to Shelburne and the playoff series win was a big injection of excitement for the team. "The Elora, Shelburne series was pretty close and very exciting hockey." said Cents GM Tim Mc Naughton. "I am sure they (Elora) are feeling great about the series and eager to take us on. We have said this many times. We have come a long ways, we appreciate where we are at and are very excited to win some hockey games. We are ready for a run at this championship."
Puck drop this Sunday, Feb 12.2017 will be at 7:00pm.
